HotHouse talks with Mally Skok

interview mally skok

Catching up with Interior and Textile Designer Mally Skok, was delightful as well as insightful.
Mally, has a no nonsense approach to life that is equally balanced with joy.
A native of South Africa, Mally’s perspective is layered with her global experiences.

Mally’s visual journey is evident throughout her beautiful fabrics/textiles.
The Mix of playful pattern and vibrant color is a celebration of her travels.

Her designs are heart felt and reflect an artisanal and collected global appreciation for textiles.
Mally, shared this and more during an interview with Linda Holt and myself on FB’s The Hothouse
Community. We discussed her thoughts and attitude towards life and how being kind, was not only
about others but necessary to apply to ourselves so that we may thrive.
We also talked about her new role as a published author of “Mally’s Little Handbook.”
A real guide to approachable entertaining through her skilled eye.

To watch the entire interview, visit our Facebook page or subscribe to The Hothouse Community
YouTube Channel. There Mally goes on to describe her beautiful collection with Dowel furniture and
her amazing annual Kips Bay Show House design contribution.
Mally, was also a contributor to the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House fundraiser in NYC where
tablescape design brings donors together to support the underprivileged in the NY area.

An evening of beautiful designs and hearts gathering to give back.
